This Is Our Time

Beta and I met TWICE this week, in order to finish the rough draft of the book for the first half of the show. Got all that? Good.

Not only did we complete our goal for the week, the scenes are all 100% perfect. Good luck turning these scenes into songs without ruining them, jerks!

J/k! All members of the Skin Deep creative team get along swimmingly, with absolutely no disagreements. And we have another meeting tonight! Things are on the move. I'm excited.

Back... Again, But This Time Definitely FOR GOOD

Guess what, Skin Deep fans! The process has resumed. Actually, it resumed last summer, but then we didn't post on the blog about it, and also it sort of died out out again some time in August. But now we're back AGAIN!

Firstly, BK is back in town, so that'll help the process out, and also we've arranged for weekly meetings. In fact, we already had our first weekly meeting, and then Beta and I had our first book-writers meeting yesterday. If we all complete our assignments in a timely fashion, I think we will definitely be On the Right Track. Post it.

If only...

Hey Skin Deepers,

Wouldn't it be great if I could quit my current job and write Skin Deep as my job? Maybe I'll get caught doing this instead of working and I'll get fired and my wish will kind of come true.

P.S. What's the deal with Jack? He claimed that he had to "meet Seth" instead of coming to the meeting on Sunday. Is it just me, or does he LIVE with Seth. At first I thought that maybe he was confused and really meant that he had to meet with us to work on Skin Deep, but as the evening wore on with no sign of him, I realized that I was the one who was confused. Confused in thinking that Jack actually cares about any of this. I hope I'm wrong.

Another Evening's Work . . . by SOME of Us

Ben, Beta, Sukari and myself spent much of today working on Skin Deep. Ben, Beta and Sukari spent a lot of time working on the book and also on some new songs, while I worked on the book by myself and then met up with them so that the four of us could create a complete outline for the whole show.

Jack didn't show up, despite ample opportunity. He's on thin ice. Deadly thin.

But things are progressing nicely and steadily.

This is so exciting!

This is it. It's totally happening. I haven't been able to participate much, but I certainly enjoyed the time I had with Ben and Sukari. I think we'll all need to put our eccentricities and egos aside if we're going to get anywhere. As long as we all respect one another's ideas, we'll pump out a hell of a show. I love everybody and everything.

What a Week!!!

Hey Skin Deep fans,

Ben here. Wow, what a week we've had here in Skin Deep land. While our first official Skin Deep meeting of the season is not until tomorrow, we've already begun discussing and revising Skin Deep.

So, just what exactly have we done. Well, Skin Deep fans, listen up. We have started asking the important questions about the tone and nature of the show. We have gone through the song list, and have identified the spots that need to be expanded or revised. We have begun to put together a well-crafted book to tie the brilliant songs together. As if all of that wasn't enough, we made this blog.

The momentum is building. It's coming soon. Be prepared.

Love,

Ben

Starting the Blog!

We've set up a new email address: skindeepthemusical@gmail.com specifically for Skin Deep! And now this blog is going to documentate the creative process involved in bringing this musical to fruition. Obviously, some of it is already written, but we've got a long way to go, and we're all very excited about it. Come join us on this wondrous journey!

Sincerely,
Dan (and Beta, Jack, Sukari, and Ben)
